Digital conversion of Scalextric C398 Mini Cooper

 

This Scalextric C398 Mini Cooper was in great condition with all the parts present and correct. We fitted the smaller single seater Scalextric C7005 In-Car Microprocessor onto the underside of the chassis moulding between the front axle and rear of the motor. It can be seen in the picture underneath the LED fixing plate.

Next we made a plate from 2mm plsticard to fit between the front axle supports and the rear motor support. The LED was secured to the plate and the plate glued into position. This holds the lane change LED in the right position to signal to the receivers in the track lane change pieces.

Finally we connected the guide blade and the motor wires giving a very compact conversion with everything fitted neatly into position.
