Red LED kit for illuminated tail lamps and stop lamps

 

This kit is unique to Scalextric Car Restorations.

This red LED kit is excellent as Scalextric car tail lamps and stop lamps. While the car is under power on the track each LED emits a moderate brightness red light ideal for the tail lamps of Scalextric cars. When the power is released and the car slows down, both the LEDs become much brighter just like real car brake lights. This is accomplished with a small electronic module that senses when the car is slowing or stopping. The module then significantly increases the brightness of the LEDs for a short period of time.

This LED kit connects to the car with only two wires connected directly to the car motor making the fitting simplicity itself, see the picture above where the LEDs and electronic module are fitted to a Ford Escort Cosworth. The kit is protected against improper electrical fitting.

The LEDs can be fitted directly to the Ford Escort Cosworth, Ford RS200 BMW M3 and the Ford Mondeo cars as the car chassis has the correct fittings to accept these LEDs. They can also be fitted to almost any Scalextric car, with a little bit of ingenuity.
