Red LED for illuminated tail lamps

 

These red LEDs are excellent as Scalextric car tail lamps. They emit a moderate brightness red light ideal for the tail lamps of Scalextric cars. These LEDs are 12V and can be connected directly to the car motor with no series resistor or other components making the fitting simplicity itself, see the picture above where the LEDs are fitted to a Ford Escort Cosworth.

The LEDs can be fitted directly to the Ford Escort Cosworth, Ford RS200 BMW M3 and the Ford Mondeo cars as the car chassis has the correct fittings to accept these LEDs. They can also be fitted to almost any Scalextric car, with a little bit of ingenuity.

If you are not sure how to connect these LEDs a kit is also available with the wiring necessary to connect directly to the car motor.
